The Limpertsberg community garden is an initiative of the city of Luxembourg in the Limpertsberg commune. The garden has a surface area of approximately 630 m2 and has a shared compost.
It is managed collectively by the gardeners who also have a small individual plot. In total, there are 20 individual plots (1/3 of the garden) and 9 collective plots. Examples of plants grown in the garden are: root vegetables, tomatoes, courgettes/pumpkins, potatoes, herbs, strawberries, currants and flowers.
Annual crop rotation is ensured in the communal plots.
Participation in the garden is conditional upon payment of an annual membership fee, as well as regular attendance at meetings and training sessions, and maintenance of one's own plot and the shared plots.
Apart from gardening, the gardeners meet regularly to take joint decisions.
Access to the garden is reserved for residents of the neighbourhood, on a waiting list.
