The Transition Pétrusse community garden is a project of the non-profit organisation Transition Stad. It is managed collectively by the participants. There are no individual plots. The plan of the garden and the crops (polyculture, rotation) is established in winter with all the participants. Decisions are taken by consensus among those present. The daily work is decided by those present at each meeting. Participation in the garden is free of charge and there is no waiting list, but each participant must sign a charter in which our principles and skills are recorded.
We practice permaculture without chemical fertilisers or pesticides and with a very low carbon impact as we use mainly resources found in the local environment. We actively participate in the plant exchange and distribution of local seeds. We also organise training courses.
Our aim is primarily educational by offering practices and knowledge to participants with the means to implement them and also to build a community for individual and collective well-being.
