Community Garden Mersch
The community garden in Mersch came into existence in 2018 and has been evolving in leaps and bounds since.
Organisation:
Cultivation in the community garden is mixed. There are 16 small plots, which are for individual plantation and use. In addition, there is one large plot where cultivation and harvest are divided into 3 autonomous groups, depending on the interests and availability of the members.
In addition to traditional vegetables and an herb garden we have a mature forest garden, a no-dig area, and lots of exciting themes: perennial vegetables, edible flowers, Ayurvedic herbs and medicinal plants, wild edibles, and a tea garden. This year we plan a moon garden for our little friends, the night pollinators, as well as a space for hot-weather plants to adapt to climate change. We are also trying out biodynamic solutions, planting by the signs, and organic pest control methods.
Yearly contribution: 40 euro per year, plus any additional costs.
