Community Garden Bascharage

The garden has an area of about 7 ares.

It is a place where people of different ages and backgrounds can meet and exchange ideas.

It is open to International Protection Applicants staying in the Red Cross shelter.

There are about a dozen regular participants who are occasionally joined by their spouses, children or friends.

The garden is managed collectively by all participants. There are no individual plots. Decisions are taken in common but there is room for personal initiative.

There are no membership fees or waiting lists.

Gardening is done according to ecological criteria without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or GMOs (genetically modified organisms).

We learn the principles of permaculture, crop rotation, companion planting, resource saving, mulching, use of SEED seeds, wilderness area…

There is a hut with common tools.
